One of the most important concepts I learned is teaching presence. More importantly, sharing my hobbies and presenting some emotions is important for students to see. I always knew that open and cohesive communication was important, but now I know that these are vital elements in an online environment. One of my facilitation strategies is to share some tips on how to complete the course successfully. My rationale for this is that sometimes, online learners are overwhelmed with technology and course content. Additionally, some of them may need tips to remain motivated and engaged in the course. SMART goals: I will include a picture of myself for every online course I facilitate. I will include a video or audio clip at least once for every online course I facilitate. Questions: I wonder what percentage of students successfully complete a course? I wonder what percentage of students are international? To find the answers to these questions, I can ask my eLearning facilitator.
